Integrasi Ilmu Pengetahuan dalam Perspektif Filsafat Pendidikan Islam
Abstract
Knowledge in the view of Islam is an intermediary indicator to strengthen faith. Faith will only increase and strengthen, if it is accompanied by knowledge. Islamic teachings have never carried out a dichotomy between religions and sciences. Because in the view of Islam and Islamic philosophers, religious and general knowledge come from Allah. Islam also recommends all of its people to be serious in learning every science. This is because the Qur'an is the main source and reference, His teachings contain all the core knowledge, both concerning general science and religious knowledge. Thoughts on the integration or Islamization of science today are carried out by Muslim intellectuals. In totality, this is done in the midst of a busy global world filled with advances in science and technology. With a concept that Muslims will progress, they can catch up with Westerners if they are able to transform and absorb knowledge actually. In addition, there is an assumption that science originating from Western countries is considered secular, therefore it must be rejected, or at least it must be interpreted and translated with Islamic understanding and strengthened from a philosophical point of view.
